Women's Health Awareness
My mission is to increase health literacy and hygiene accessibility for young women. We provide practical skills, high-quality menstrual products, and a safe space for dialogue---ensuring that no student's education or well being is hindered by the lack of knowledge and resources.
About Me
The Heart Behind the Collective
Hi, I’m Akshaya Konjeti, a high school student passionate about increasing awareness for the issues in women’s health.
My interest in this field began when I myself experienced issues with my period. I got it at a young age, and saw my friends and family also experiencing different problems. Two of my family members went through surgery and got diagnosed with endometriosis, which takes a great toll on someone’s life. Since then, I have worked on using social media and hosting events, where I focused on creating awareness for the gaps in women’s health.
Beyond academics, I enjoy choir, robotics, and doing nails for my clients, which help me develop skills such as leadership, creativity, teamwork, and management.
Through my work, I hope to make an impact on my community and continue exploring ways to turn ideas into meaningful impact.
Leading with Purpose
ARTEMISS Collective is student-led and community-supported. We believe in grassroots leadership, where young women take charge of their own health narratives. From coordinating kit distributions to facilitating library workshops, our team is committed to transparency, empathy, and advocacy.
Core Values
Creating a safe space for women to interact and engage with other women.
Our Goal
To create awareness for women's health and the lack of resources.
MY RESEARCH
Early on-set Alzheimer's is a neurodegenerative disease condition that affects memory, reasoning, and problem solving. I am currently working on a research paper under Dr. Jobin Varkey, Professor at University of Southern California to dive into the details on the underlying causes of this disease.
